Yep, it would actually have been better if they had just reprinted the Old

gazetteers; 3 in each book, with only AD&D stats added, and perhaps a WotI

timeline to explain what happened the next 10 years for that country. 
Ooooh, that would have been nice wouldnt it?

Lots of OD&D rules made their way into 3e. In addition to the Monster 
Characters, the Prestigue Cl*****, and the Feat system both have 
predessors in OD&D (referring to High level Class options and Weapon 
Mastery).
