used, which means that seventy-three of the authors will receive just
a free book.

I agree. Fredric Brown often did wonders with fewer, but not many
other writers have. Whenever I've been asked to judge short story
competitions I've suggested that the minimum length should be 2000
words.

I just meant that the "free books" could be anything, including second-
hand. I'm not saying they are, but I see the original poster still
isn't saying what they will be.
