Teller-to-Teller: SF Bay Area Networking Event for Storytellers Oct. 21

Teller-to-Teller is a networking and professional development event for
storytellers, organized by Jackie Baldwin (www.story-lovers.com).

Morning Workshop: How to Get Hired. Panel Discussion and Q&A
Morning Panelists:
=B7 Rebecca Fisher and Bridget Frederick - representing Tell it on
Tuesday, which celebrates the expression of individual voices by
promoting the art of storytelling and solo performance. Coming together
as a community to share works crafted by theater artists and
storytellers, they provide an East Bay home to the solo performer.

=B7 Pat Krenke - representing elementary schools. Over the last 12
years Pat has hired 16 tellers for an elementary school or the Reading
Association of Napa Valley. She has had to find a variety of tellers
from many cultures and styles of telling due to the fact that public
schools often have special considerations when hiring.

=B7 Ruth Mankin - representing Young Audiences of Northern
California, which serves students, teachers, and families from Monterey
to Mendocino, and San Francisco to the Central Valley. This year, they
will continue to partner with schools and community sites to offer
educationally-sound and artistically-excellent arts education programs.
Their roster of over 120 professional artists and ensembles represent a
diverse range of art forms and cultural traditions.

=B7 Elizabeth Overmyer - Currently the Acting Manager of Children's
Services at the Berkeley Public Library, Elizabeth spent the last 10
years booking performers for the family programming events at all five
Berkeley libraries. A long- time member of the Association of
Children's Librarians of Northern California (ACL), she is in her
second year of coordinating ACL's annual Performers Showcase, which
regularly brings the work of children's performers to the attention of
children's librarians across the region.

=B7 Nancy Binzen - Nancy has 30 years of experience in creative PR
and marketing communications. Her clients have spanned the gamut from
Fortune 500 companies to national not-for-profit organizations to
entrepreneurial start-ups. Nancy also organized and conducted national
media tours for numerous clients and probably arranged at least one
interview in virtually every city in the country with a daily newspaper
or broadcast media outlet.

=B7 Tim Ereneta - Berkeley-based actor and storyteller Tim Ereneta
brings traditional tales to life at campfires, dinner parties, Fringe
Festivals, and variety shows. He is currently exploring how
storytellers can use the latest generation of Web applications to reach
new audiences.

=B7 Craig Harrison - Craig "Hackin' 'Boo" Harrison is principal of
Expressions of Excellence, which provides solutions through speaking.
Since the age of eleven when  he went door-to-door in Berkeley selling
recycled jokes, Craig Harrison has been telling tales in and out of
school. The adult Craig Harrison founded Expressions of Excellence to
help others communicate their brillance. He's on the SAAC board and is
a past president of the National Speakers Association's Northern
California chapter.

=B7 Ruth Stotter - Ruth is the former Director of the Dominican
University Storytelling program. She received the Reading the World
Award from the University of San Francisco (2004) and the first Pacific
Region Service Award (1996) from the National Storytelling Association
in Jonesborough, TN. The author of numerous publications about the art
and craft of storytelling (her books are available on amazon.com), Ruth
has been hired to tell stories in Malaysia, ****tugal, Kenya, Australia,
England, France, Canada and throughout the USA.

$10-20 donation requested.

Please bring food to share for lunch.

There will be time to network and talk with other storytellers and
panelists before and after the panels.

(Attendees are also invited to network over dinner en route to "A
Harvest of Stories" storytelling concert, an evening of stories by the
Members of the Sonoma and Napa Storytelling Guilds. The money raised
will provide storytellers to visit the classrooms in the Sonoma county
