Anybody here attend the convention at FIT?
I did; had a great time as usual. One of these years,
I'll have to stay later on Saturday to catch some more
origami fun.
My favorite model was the hydrangea box lid. It's an
amazing model; all diagonal valley folds and orthogonal
mountain folds, or vice versa depending on which side of
the paper is facing up. The folding sequence would be
hard to diagram, but everything kind of pops into place
once you get the hang of it. It has iterative levels, too,
like a fractal.
I also managed to get into a book class on Monday.
The folding itself was easy, but the book, made with
art papers, looks quite impressive when completed.
