First, go through the Word file and make sure there are NO images in
the do***ent. You might also want to convert any tables back to normal
text and check for things like forced page breaks and section breaks,
and remove them. Save As the file to a new name and then try to Place
that into the PageMaker do***ent.
If that doesn't work, then go back into Word and use the Save As option
to save as normal Text (not RTF), and then Place that file into the
PageMaker do***ent. You will lose all the formatting (bold, italic,
defined styles etc.), but you will also lose whatever silliness in Word
is affecting the file.
Microsoft of a nasty habit of redefining things to suit themselves, so
an RTF file that is meant to contain only text (with the information
for bold, etc.) will still contain Microsoft's own nonsense like tables
and even image data.
If that plain Text file still doesn't work, then there's a problem with
PageMaker itself and you may have to re-install PageMaker or the im****t
translators.
