Re: figure a price!

I think you're probably right.

I mean, when I can go to a body shop with only a gas tank and the side
covers for a 1983 Honda Magna V45 and they want upwards of $200 just to
shoot it in about 5 minutes. This with leftover paint from something they
JUST painted that's in the same color as what I want, and I've already
done
all the prep work. Then it's only right that this guy pay $2000 for a
custom
paint job when you've done all kinds of body work AND the guy wants you to
hold it cause he doesn't have the money.

One question though, you did give him something of a ballpark figure
initially, didn't you? Or did he just dump it on you and say "HERE, paint
it."

Here's what you do. Come up with a timeframe that you'll wait for him to
cough up the cash. Tell him he has that amount of time to come up with the
cash. If he doesn't, you'll file a mechanic's lein on the bike, and sell
it
for yourself. There are plenty of people who would buy that bike in a
heartbeat for probably twice or triple that.

I mean, when you're talking about custome paint jobs and body work, it's
not
cheap. Especially on motorcycles.

Hope this helps.

Allan
