Hi everybody,
few days ago I had the pleasure to interview Giuseppe Massoni, an
Italian goldsmith and jeweler from a family of jewelers. The Massoni
are designing and making jewels in Rome since 1790.
Giuseppe is the latest generation of the family and is introducing new
technologies on a centuries old tradition.
He uses 3D software (McNeel Rhino) for the design, CAM software
(MecSoft VisualMill and RhinoCAM) and rapid prototyping devices
(Roland DGA) for the manufacturing of prototypes.
During the interview Giuseppe talks about himself, the impact of 3D
modeling technology on his job, and about the evolution of jewelery
design.
